Biography
Soprano Daria Kalinina studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt on
Main by Prof. Thomas Heyer, where she graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts with
distinction. Thereafter she studied by Prof. Lars Woldt her Master at the Academy August
Everding in Munich.
The soprano participated in master courses by Helmut Deutsch, Franziska Severin,
Gerd Uecker, Andreas Burzik, Ian Bostridge, Cornelia Preissinger, Nicola Beller Carbone and
others. Kalinina worked with conductors and directors, among others, Christian Jost, Olivier
Tambosi, Nicholas Cleobury, Valterri Rauhalammi, Hermann Bäumer, Elisabeth Stöppler,
Wolfgang Nägele.
Daria Kalinina was honoured with scholarships, like one of the Deutscher Bühnenverein in
2022, scholarship of Arthur Pfungst Foundation Frankfurt from 2018 till 2022, Neu Start
Kultur (new start of art) scholarship by German Music Council etc.
In summer 2017 Daria Kalinina made her debut as Susanna in the “Marriage of Figaro” of
Mozart in the theater festival in Bad Vilbel (Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel), where the year after
she was performing already as Gretel in “Hansel and Gretel” of Engelbert Humperdinck.
In 2017 Kalinina was performing as Oscar in the “Masked Ball” (German translation) G. Verdi
at the Chamber Opera Frankfurt (Kammeroper Frankfurt).
2019 the soprano sang the role of Alciloe in the opera “Idalide” of W.A. Mozart at Thüringer
Theater Rudolstadt. With the roles of Barbarina in “Le nozze di Figaro” and Sandmann as well
as Taumann (Hansel and Gretel) Daria Kalinina was performing at the state theater in Mainz
(Staatstheater Mainz) in the season 2018/19, as well as in 2019/20 as Xenia in “Boris
Godunov” N. Rimski-Korsakov. At the state theater Darmstadt (Staatstheater Darmstadt)
Kalinina fulfilled the role of Celestina in the opera “Pit and Paula” Bernd Wilden.
At the Opera Frankfurt sang Daria Kalinina Adina in “L’elisir d’amore“ G. Donizetti in the
adaptation for children in 2019.
In the season 2022/23 the soprano can be heard at the Theater Chemnitz in roles of Frasquita
in Carmen, Blonde in “the Abduction from the Seraglio”, Eurydike in “Orpheus in the
Underworld” and others.
