Biography

Mezzo-soprano Alžběta Symerská is student of the master's degree in singing at HF JAMU (ENG: Faculty of Music Janáček´s Academy of Performing Arts, FM JAPA). There she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in the same field in the class of doc. Mgr. Art. Helena Kaupová. Previously she graduated of the P. J. Vejvanovský Conservatory of singing under the guidance of Mgr. szt. Martina Macko.
She gained stage experience in comedic and serious roles already during her studies. Among them are Anyka from the contemporary opera Kalvárie (M. Brothánková), Sharon in the Finian´s Rainbow, the unyielding Madam Pfeil in Der Schauspieldirektor (W. A. Mozart), the lustful widow Fidalma from the opera Il matrimonio segreto (D. Cimarosa), the purposeful Clarice in La Pietra del Paragone (G.Rossini), the petty-bourgeois Mrs. Herring in the opera Albert Herring (B. Britten), the dramatic Mother Mary from the Dialogues des Carmélites (F. Poulenc) and others. 
She completed her bachelor's degree with the beautiful role of the flamboyant Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro (W. A.Mozart). She won children and adult audiences in the series of mini-operas Městská strašidla, where she played the roles of Časožrout (Time-waster) and Lebka (the Skull) (Z. Král, O. Kyas, M. Kašperský) in collaboration with Ensemble Opera Diversa. In collaboration with the Prague Philharmonic Choir (PFS), she performed as La Madre di Cio-Cio-San in the opera Madame Butterfly (G. Puccini) on the Bregenzer Festspiele 2022. At the same festival, she performed chorus for both Madame Butterfly and the opera Sibirien (U. Giordano).For the Opera Studio Prague in the 2022 seasons, she charismatically portrayed the role of Ježiba (Witch) in Rusalka (A. Dvořák) on the open stage of the Ant.Dvořák´s Memorial in Vysoká u Příbramě.
She also performed many times in concerts, among others, as part of the Music in the Gardens and Chateau festival in UNESCO´s Kroměříž, where she and the orchestra performed the program of Mozart's arias and a year later A.Dvořák's Mass in D major. 
At the Janáček Brno 2022 festival, she performed as a soloist with the ensemble of the Opera of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre and Canticum Ostrava in Leoš Janáček's Choral Fantasy. She repeatedly performed at organ concerts with compositions by P. Eben, H. Górecki and M. Duruflé. She collaborated with the Akvarteto association on the presentation of Gloriaby A. Vivaldi and Stabat Mater by G. B. Pergolesi. She performed the same opus with the Collegium Musicum orchestra and the Musica Siloensis choir.
