Biography
Imma Valeria Caputo is an italian soprano. Graduated in Lyric Voice at the Conservatory of Music “San Pietro a Majella” (Naples, 2017), she has perfected her vocal technique studying with some of the biggest international names such as Angela Gheorghiu, José Carreras, Mariella Devia, Bruno Praticò, Barbara Frittoli and many others. She has performed in Italy and abroad in various concerts and International Opera Competitions.
A career that began as a child between theatre, ballet and television, in fact she started her artistic path when she was six as a soloist at school regional shows, studying classical ballet and joining in some programmes (Televomero; Festival del Talento for the Rai-Radio Televisione Italiana).
After having attended the classical high school, she was admitted as a Soprano at the Conservatory “San Pietro a Majella” (Naples). There she enriched with significant experiences (“Dialogues of Carmelites”,2013; “La Bohème”, role of Mimì, 2016-2017); she was also a student of the M° Sandro De Palma. She joined the Youth Chorus of the Teatro di San Carlo, with whom she was able to continue its artistic career singing at the Teatro di San Carlo for the “Opening ceremony of the bicentenary of Don Bosco al Sud”, she sang at the Curia (Naples) in the presence of the Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe and as a soloist in Ercolano in the historical place of Villa Campolieto and in other numerous occasions through the artistic workshops of San Carlo in Vigliena.
In 2013 she got the Degree of Lyric Voice at the Conservatory of Naples with the Final grade of 9/10 and later she graduated at the 2nd level Master’s Degree with the Final grade of 110/110 with honors. In 2014 she performed at the Gorki Cultural Russian Association and she sang in the opera “Aida di Scafati” promoted by the Conservatory, it took place at the Royal Palace (Naples).
She sang in the Masterclass of José Carreras, Bruno Praticò, Mariella Devia, Amand Hekkers, Roberto De Simone, Barbara Frittoli, Adi Bar, Maria Dragoni, Renata Lamanda, Riccardo Canessa, Davide Dellisanti, Romina Casucci, Luciana D’Intino, etc.
In 2015 she increased her artistic experience performing as a solo artist in quality of winner of the scholarship “Giacomo Maggiore” of the Teatro San Carlo in the presence of the highest authorities (Ceremony for the 150th Anniversary of the Capitaneria di Porto). She also performed at the Italian Republic Day Cerimony in Plebiscito Square (Naples) and as a soloist at Military Airport (Naples). On 21stMay 2015 she won the 1st Award of XIX International Napolinova Competition for the Lyric Voice with the Final grade 98/100. She also won the 1st Award of the IV° Edition of Antonio Falconio Competition with an ensemble of elements and organized by the Rotary Club of Naples.
Also in 2015 she joined in an educational TV Show “La Piazza incantata” for Rai Educational with the M° Sergio Siminovich and she has selected for the Opera “Il Duello Comico” of G. Paisiello promoted by the European Academy of Music and Arts of the Spectacle (Aemas) in Naples.
She sang as a soloist in Christmas Concert of Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano (Naples) promoted by the Intesa San Paolo Bank. She sang as a soloist in stage performances for the Second Centenary of the death of Giovanni Paisiello at the Conservatory San Pietro a Majella (Naples) and at National Museum of Capodimonte (Naples), with the Chamber Orchestra of Naples at Villa Pignatelli, at Basilica dello Spirito Santo, at Chiesa della Pietà dei Turchini, at Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore and at Church of Santa Maria of Donnalbina through the Association Domenico Scarlatti.
She took part as a soloist and actress in the performance “La Cantata dei pastori” directed by theatre director Mariano Bauduin with the arias of Baroque repertoire, gaining great attention and achieving a public success unprecedented.
She has arrived as a Semifinalist at the 2nd International Eva Marton Singing Competition 2016 (Budapest, 19-25 September 2016). She has arrived at final rounds of International Opera Competition “Ravello City of Music” (2016). She sang as a soloist in a high Mass at Church of Gesù Nuovo (Naples) that was broadcast live on Rai 1 Channel (February 2017).
She sang as a Mimì in the opera “La Bohème” at Conservatory San Pietro a Majella of Naples (April 2017). She sang in a Lesson-Concert of the M° Roberto De Simone on Giovanni Paisiello at Conservatory San Pietro a Majella (May 2017). She performed in the Inauguration Concert at Foundation SGM Conference Center (Rome) as part of the Rome Opera Campus project (December 2017).
She sang in the Christmas Mass at Church of Gesù Nuovo (Naples) that was broadcast live on 8 TV. She joined OperaLab, project of High Musical Education, organized by the Accademia Musicale Europea at Palazzo Venezia (Naples, October 2017 - March 2018) and she was winner of concerts in the music festival of Palazzo Venezia. She sang in the XXIII Edition of BMT (Mediterranean Exchange of Tourism) at Mostra d’Oltremare (Naples, March 2018) and at National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa (Portici, Naples, July 2018).
She performed in an Opera Concert at Lyrical Cultural Circle of Bologna with the M° Bruno Praticò (May 2019).
She is winner of concerts with the Musical Association Pergolesi, of the Mimas Music Festival scholarship and of concerts of the Association Mousikè (June 2019).
She participated at the 5th Edition of International Opera Singing Competition of Portofino (Portofino, July 2019).
She sang for the Christmas Mass at the Church of Gesù Nuovo (Naples) in the presence of the Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe and other authorities.
She was selected to sing in the International Opera Singing Masterclass with the M° José Carreras and she was selected for to perform in the Final Opera Concert at Teatro Rossini (Pesaro, 20-25 January 2020).
She performed in an Opera Concert at Teatro Garibaldi (Santa Maria Capua Vetere, CE, January 2020) and at Teatro Posillipo (Naples, February 2020).
She has arrived as a Semifinalist at the “Sacred Music International Competition” (Rome, 1-4 September 2020) and at the “XV° International Lyric Singing Competition Rinaldo Pelizzoni” (December 2020).
She was selected for the final rounds of the Opera Singing Competition “Giancarlo Aliverta” (Milan, November 2021).
She was finalist at the “City of Alessandria” International Music Competition (December 2021).
She was admitted at Accademia del BelCanto “Rodolfo Celletti” at the audition for Accademia’s courses after passing preselective exam (march 2022).
In September 2022 she will be Musetta in “La Bohème” for the Federico Cesi Festival at Clitunno Theatre in Trevi.
In the season 2021/2022 she is a student of Soprano Angela Gheorghiu, selected for an Annual Specialization Course (Certificate of Advanced Studies in Lied and Opera Singing, CAS) at Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano.
In January 2023 she is a finalist at the 14th International Opera Singing Competition "City of Brescia" - tribute to Maria Callas.
In February 2023 she was selected by the C.I.O.E. (') Training Academy created by Lello Arena and Enzo Decaro (among the artists involved in the lessons and masterclass: Nicola Piovani, Vincenzo Salemme, Arturo Brachetti, Roberto Colella, Giovanni Block, Fabrizio Mainini, Veronica Peparini, Anna Pavignano, etc.) as well as supported by the City of Naples and included in the programs of Naples City of Music for Audiovisual to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of the actor Massimo Troisi, at the end of which she performs in singing shows at Plebiscito Square (Naples) in August 2023 on the occasion of the third edition of "Restate a Napoli".
