Biography
Evangelos Chatzistavrou is a bass-baritone singer from Thessaloniki of Central Macedonia, Greece. He graduated with distinction from the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia, in Thessaloniki, where he specialized in classical singing, under the supervision of Mezzo-Soprano Angelica Cathariou. This year he is a postgraduate student at the same University. He specialized further in the field of classical singing during a summer school at Anatolia College, in Thessaloniki, by professor Dwight Coleman. Evangelos participated in the choir of University of Macedonia and the choir of Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church of Thessaloniki, under the guidance of Maria Emma Meligopoulou, performing in various concerts in Greece, Israel, Germany, Italy, Russia, and Belarus. As a member of the choir of University of Macedonia, he also participated in concerts, which took place at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall and at Democritus University of Thrace, Komotini. As a soloist, Evangelos performed in two Easter concerts with the Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestra. He took lessons from Syranous Tsalikian, Aris Christofellis, Charikleia Glavopoulou, Christophoros Stamboglis and Don Marazzo.
