Louise Guenter

Biography

Louise Guenter is a Belgian soprano. Although a music enthousiast and amateur cellist since longer, it was only during her Classics studies at the Sorbonne University of Paris that she considered taking voice lessons, after a musicology class on opera had kindled a passion for vocal music.
In 2015, she took up private voice lessons with Sandra Zeltzer, who soon advised Louise to
pursue a degree in music. Hardly two years after her very first voice lesson, Louise was accepted to KASK&Conservatorium School of Arts Gent, where she obtained her Bachelors degree in the class of Marcos Pujol.
In 2022, Louise obtained her Diplôme supérieur d’exécution with Daniel Ottevaere at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot.
Since September, Louise continues her studies at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. 
Louise attended masterclasses with Edda Moser, Anna Samuil, Valerie Girard, Daniel Ottevaere, Ulrike Sonntag and Christianne Stotijn, and has received several coachings from Italian vocal and language coach Ubaldo Fabbri (official repetitor Rossini opera festival Pesaro, a.o.).
Louise has performed the roles of Suor Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica (A. Gabriëls, mus. dir. K. Hendrickson), Romilda in Handel’s Serse (B. Deleersnyder, mus.dir. F. Heyerick) and Helene in Hindemith’s Hin und Zurück (M.Bogaert, mus.dir. W. Vande Ginste) in the productions of KASK&Conservatorium School of Arts Gent. In the 22-23 season, Louise will perform the role of Concepcion in L’Heure espagnole by Ravel in the production of the Hanns Eisler school in Berlin, and the role of Dido in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell with Leuvens Universitair Koor. 
From 2020 to 2022, Louise was a member of the MM Academy of La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels, where she was coached by Angélique Noldus and Marta Beretta and participated in the production of Norma.
