Yara KASTI

Biography

Yara Kasti is a singer, musician, author and composer who began opera Conservatoire of Bordeaux. Then, she joined the Belcanto Academy Opera Studio as the only French singer. Moreover, she graduated from the Regional Conservatoire of Paris and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse of Lyon with high distinction.

"A long and enthralling voice, but above all a fascinating personality" (Les Saisons de la Voix) have enabled Yara to win numerous singing competitions in France, notably the first prize in the opera category in Arles and Mâcon, the Léopold Bellan prize of honour and the second special prize in Béziers and Marmande. Yara joined the first promotion of Génération Opéra 2022 directed by Jérôme Gay. 

"Her soprano voice is pure, crystalline, supple in the high notes and carried with a great diction" (Olyrix), and has moved many personalities of the operatic world, notably Laurent Naouri, Natalie Dessay,  Karine Deshayes, Salvatore Caputo.. Many conductors have invited her as a soloist for world contemporary creations or magnificent pieces of the sacred and baroque repertoire such as Haendel’s The Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Lauda Sion, Honneger’s King David, Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo.

"Active and inhabited by each text, regardless of the language or style of music she performs, Yara Kasti is fully invested" (Olyrix), she has been able to sing many roles on stage : Oreste and Parthoenis/La Belle-Hélène, Venus/Orpheus in the Underworld (cond. Philippe Forget), First Naiad/Armid by Gluck (stage director Gilles Bouillon) and Pamina in the French version of Mozart’s Magic Flute. Yara has also performed in German the role of First Lady/Die Zauberflöte (cond. Nicolas André, stage director Bernard Rozet) and Annina/La Traviata at The Nuits Lyriques Summer Festival in Marmande. She will be performing the role of Contessa in Mozart’s le Nozze di Figaro this season.
