Biography

Johannes Fritsche studied at the “Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart” with Prof. Ulrike Sonntag and completed his master's degree in singing at the opera school there.
At the Goodmesh Concours 2021 he won second prize and the special prize for the best interdisciplinary project.
 
He made his debut in 2019 as Guglielmo at the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart in “Così fan tutte” and in 2020 as Herr Fluth in Otto Nicolai's “Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor”. He has already taken part in several world premieres, including Victoria Bond's opera “Clara” at the Osterfestpiele Baden-Baden and Markus Höring's opera “Im Thurm” at the Landestheater Tübingen. In 2021 he sang the role of Bogumil in the operetta “Der Liebe Augustin” (Leo Fall) at the Theater Görlitz. At the Theater Plauen-Zwickau he was heard as Leporello in Mozart's “Don Giovanni” and in the chamber operas “Radames” and “Harakiri” by Péter Eötvös.
 
As a concert soloist, Johannes Fritsche sang the “Matthew Passion” by J.S. Bach at the Teatro Olimpico Vicenza (Italy) and has already sung in Bach's St. John Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Rossini's Petite messe solennelle, Mendelssohn's Elijah and Handel's Messiah.
He has performed with the Freiburger Barockorchester, the Württembergische Philharmonie, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic.
He received further impulses from master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Michael Volle, Bo Skovhus, Margreet Honig, Willy Decker, Claus Guth and Hartmut Höll.
